Biography: Daenerys grew up in a well-to-do family. Her father, Aerys, was the CEO of the most powerful patenting company in Winter Falls, and the family had almost anything they could ever want or need. But when Daenerys was born and her mother died during childbirth due to pregnancy complications, it was said that Aerys went a bit mad. He wouldn’t be spotted in public as much as he once was, and the company’s profits began to decrease noticeably. Aerys was able to keep the company afloat for a while until an “anonymous tip” caught the government’s attention. After a faulty inspection, Aerys was wrongly accused of embezzling the company’s money. He was stripped of his position as CEO and arrested on false charges, and the company was taken over by Drogo Anderson.
The eldest of the Targaryen children, Rhaegar, raised his younger siblings, Viserys and Daenerys, on the little bit of money they had left. It didn’t take Dany as long as Viserys to adjust to this new way of life - she’d hardly had a chance to experience the lavish life the Targaryens once had. Her brothers, however, were much more effected by the change, Viserys particularly. Because she grew up in this environment, she understood at a very young age what happened to her family. While Rhaegar dealt with legal issues, Viserys grew more and more bitter, keeping up on every single one of Drogo’s moves and watching the company change. Dany was more interested in doing something about it herself.
Daenerys worked hard in school, taking any honors or AP classes she could get her hands on, and being an over-all class and teacher favorite. She was amiable and got along with everybody, but at the same time had a quality of sternness when working with others. She could take control of a situation or project better than anyone in the class - it was no surprise when she got a near full-ride scholarship to the University of Winter Falls. Though she probably could have done anything she wanted, Dany had one goal: re-claiming the company and the Targaryens’ lost honor for her family.
Now, one year away from earning her Bachelors’ degree (top of her class no less), her goal doesn’t seem too far out of reach.
